He was brought up in Turkey in a family whose ancestry dates back to the small town of Ilıca which is located in Erzurum in eastern Turkey.
Acun was 22 years old when he bagged his first job in the media and began working as a sports reporter with Show TV in 1990. Several years later, he started the production company which he named Acun Medya and earned instant success.
4 years after he started Acun Medya in 2004, he had already made his way into the list of record-breaker taxpayers.
His company is responsible for the production formats of hits shows like Deal or no Deal?, Fear Factor, Survivor, Got Talent, The Voice, Dancing with the Stars, Rising Star, Ninja Warrior.
